Throughout the third quarter of 2021, the performance of the top 5 communication apps on the Android platform in Nigeria showcased significant trends in downloads and active users. Here’s a closer look at how these apps fared:

WhatsApp Messenger maintained a steady stream of downloads, starting with around 60.8K in late June and peaking at 140.8K in early September. The app saw a consistent increase in weekly active users, rising from 38.8M to 40.1M by the end of September.

WhatsApp Business also performed well, with weekly downloads fluctuating between 72.6K and 106.5K during the quarter. Active users saw a gradual increase, moving from 1.5M to 1.6M by late September.
